Status: Fix released (Last updated 13th April 2026, 04:35pm BST)

Some posts experienced a delay in publishing between 10th and 13th April. This meant:

  • Scheduled posts did not publish as expected

  • A backlog of pending posts built up in the system

Resolution

Our team identified that a server storage issue prevented new posts from being queued for publishing. We resolved the issue by:

  • Clearing the storage issue on the affected server

  • Restoring the publishing queue to normal operation

  • Ensuring all pending posts resumed processing correctly

Publishing is now running normally and queued posts are being processed as expected.

Future Mitigation Plan

We're taking clear steps to make sure this doesn't happen again:

  • Improved alerting: We are implementing monitoring to detect server and queue issues immediately

  • Increased resilience: We are distributing publishing responsibilities across multiple servers so that no single point of failure can impact the wider system

  • Log file management: We are putting proper processes in place to ensure server storage is maintained and monitored proactively

We know how important it is that your content goes out exactly when you need it to — especially over weekends — and we're committed to making Hopper HQ a platform you can always rely on.

A problem occurred where a number of posts became stuck in the publishing queue. This meant:

  • Some scheduled posts did not publish as expected

  • A backlog of pending posts built up in the system

Resolution

Our team identified that certain publishing jobs were not terminating correctly, which caused the queue to become blocked. We resolved the issue by:

  • Restarting the publishing queue to restore normal processing

  • Clearing blocked jobs that were preventing new posts from being published

  • Ensuring pending posts resumed processing correctly

Publishing is now running normally, and queued posts are being processed as expected.

Future Mitigation Plan

We’re taking further steps to strengthen reliability and prevent this from recurring:

  • Improved alerting: We are implementing monitoring to detect queue blockages immediately

  • Stronger job handling: We are investigating and fixing the root cause to ensure jobs terminate correctly

  • Increased resilience: Safeguards are being added to prevent individual failures from blocking the wider system

We understand how important it is that your content publishes reliably — especially over weekends — and we’re prioritising improvements to ensure consistent, uninterrupted posting.

Following the publishing issue identified on 25–26 March, a small number of TikTok posts continued to trigger the same behaviour while the full fix was still being rolled out. This caused:

  • Delays to some scheduled posts

  • Some users receiving repeated post failure email notifications

Resolution

Our team completed the rollout of the permanent fix and cleared any affected publishing processes. Publishing is now running normally, and queued posts are processing as expected. We resolved the issue by:

  • Adding a strict time limit to the TikTok completion check

  • Ensuring any post that exceeds this limit fails safely instead of retrying indefinitely

  • Clearing the blocked processes and restoring normal publishing

Publishing is now running normally, and queued posts are processing as expected.

Future Mitigation Plan

We have now fully implemented the permanent safeguard to prevent this from happening again:

  • Time-limited processing: TikTok completion checks now automatically stop after a set period

  • Safe failure handling: Posts exceeding this limit fail safely without blocking other posts

  • Improved resilience: Individual post issues can no longer impact wider publishing

On 25th March, a small batch of TikTok posts triggered an unexpected issue in our publishing system. This caused the system to get “stuck” retrying those posts repeatedly, which meant:

  • New posts across platforms were delayed from publishing

  • Some users received repeated post failure email notifications

Resolution
Our team identified and resolved the issue by:

  • Stopping and clearing the affected TikTok posts

  • Restarting the publishing system to restore normal operation

  • Marking impacted posts as failed to prevent further email notifications

All publishing is now running as expected, and new posts are being sent out normally.

Future Mitigation Plan
We’re taking clear steps to ensure this doesn’t happen again:

  • Smarter fail-safes: Posts will automatically stop retrying after a set time, preventing any system slowdowns

  • Improved notifications: Post failure emails will only ever be sent once per post

  • Proactive monitoring: We’re adding alerts to detect and resolve any publishing blockages immediately

We understand how important consistent posting is to your business, and we’re committed to making Hopper HQ as reliable and seamless as possible.
